Sunday Stroll: Fresh Air

Breathe in  that cool crisp air. Frost was on the ground in places and warns of a season of cold.

Wild Turkey hens

This is Des Moines, Iowa, the capital of Iowa shot from on top of a dam to the north. The distance is 10 km.

  1. Thanks for sharing the photos from your stroll. I especially enjoyed the turkeys. Nice shot of Des Moines, too. I like the Autumn leaf colors and the last of the zinnias. It was 36 degrees here this a.m. with a brisk wind.

  2. What a beautiful stroll today, with all the fall foliage. What is that little guy in your last picture? I think I have a photo of one myself (or something very like it), but I didn't know what it was.

  6. I'm afraid the wind has driven all our leaves away. Beautiful colors. We have seen a lot of wild turkeys around here. Fall is over for us and we are settled in for winter. Thank you for a few more minutes of fall.

  7. The temps are dipping for the first time here. 35 F is predicted, we are in the country so it will be colder. I've turned the heat on. Great pictures. Zinnias are my favorite.

  9. Hi Steve - glorious walk to be able to take - with an interesting view of the city not too far away ... looks like the cold has come the turkeys are fluffed up - cheers Hilary

  10. Looks like a beautiful fall day. I meant to tell you that the "friends" on top of my crate weren't gifts. I made the owl, bought the donkey and the dinosaurs were transplants from the meat department.
