  1. I would love that avian sanctuary. The bullfrogs start their tuba concertos every evening - back and forth. Very loud.

  2. Nebraska has great wildlife. One town I lived in had millions of toads that came out of the root cellars when it rained. The highway would be covered with them and they popped as cars ran over them.

  4. Such a great series of images, Steve. These are all things that I seldom see. The picture of you with the antlers really made me think about what a load those must be on the heads of the animals who wear them.

  5. the cranes winter down here. I was lucky enough to catch them in the air one morning flying in circles in a column, 'ketteling', before they took formation and flew off.

  9. Wonderful photos. We had wood ducks at one of our former homes. Thanks for sharing about your Aunt making the hats. I remember the big hat boxes...they were as much fun to play with as the hats!

  11. Oh what a fun adventure and what fun shots! Love the little ducks. Wouldn't it be terrible to be a bird, like the eagles, and be grounded? I guess they get used to it.
