A Day In The Woods

May Apple Blossom

A friend, Cheryl, offered a short verse to go with this Jack-in-the-pulpit.
Jack in the pulpit preaches today, under the green

leaf just over the way.

Woodland Phlox
A tiny mite often found in deep forest. It is just a bit bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.

  1. I saw a show with some campers that used metal coffee cans to make mayapple ice cream. They used the apples, kicked the can around until ready and ate it. Said it tasted of citrus and ginger.

  3. The blue phlox really caught my eye as did the tiny red spider.
It's always a treat to walk in the woods & see the variety of flora & fauna.

  4. Today was another variety. I liked the Jack-in-the-pulpit and blue jay the most.

  5. The may apple blossom is indeed beautiful. I'm not sure I've ever seen one before. That little mite sort of freaked me out, though. All I could think of was finding one crawling on me. Sometimes my imagination can create anxiety. :)
