Going To The Jungle

After a cold winter it is nice to explore a Botanical Garden.
I liked the texture and color meld with this variegated banana.

I just tasted this Star Fruit recently.

A grow light offers a purple hue to these plants.

I have used this maple-leafed geranium a lot.

In the 1930's a Gardenia was a choice hair embellishment.

  1. Ah beauty. Never saw that variegated banana before. Beautiful. I have had many banana plants in the greenhouse, but none survived. The only one that did and produced was in the ground at my house in Houston. Coco Chanel's original store in Paris, still gives out a white silk gardenia with each purchase.

  5. They have some beautiful exotic plants growing there. Everything looks healthy and lush. I wish I had a little indoor conservatory growing space of my own. I would spend a lot of time there in winter!

  6. Your photos are just beautiful. One of the plants we brought with us from our last home is a gardenia. Thankfully, it is doing well. The fragrance of the blossoms is so delightful.
    Have a blessed evening.

  7. My mother has recently began growing orchids. We recently added two new plants. They were markdowns from Valentines. Interesting enough, my mother has noticed that some plants look gorgeous but stems have been broken back until it is difficult for the plant to survive for another season. Planned replacement at work in the plant nursery business.

  10. Hi Steve - great selection and how lovely to have the Botanical Garden 'nearby' ... I used to love bougainvillea when I was in South Africa ... while Gardenias have such a wonderful scent - and are stunning flowers ... cheers Hilary

  11. I had an orchid that looked just like the first one.
It liked its location where I worked, but unfortunately when I retired and brought it home it didn't survive.
