Country Fair

Osage Orange or Hedge Apple

Practicing for the eclipse.
Heading over hill and dale.
Well over a few hills, that is quite a cliff to climb after crossing the river.

Lets take a look over here Papa.
I'm behind the scenes holding each boy up while their mom takes the picture.

You boys hungry?  We can take a picnic over by the feeders.
Female Oriole
Turtle Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Chipmunk
Blue Jay
The Goldfinch is the Iowa state bird. This male has some really nice plumage.
I saw an armadillo the other day
By the road, no longer able to play
It didn't have very much to say.

Sunday Stroll

Got peanuts?

With drought conditions all over the state, a favorite stream is barely flowing.

Even the rivers are low, as you can see with kayakers standing in the middle of the river.
The clouds couldn't make up their mind what kind to be.
Isn't she pretty?

Pearl Crescent

Sooty Wing

This huge boulder has glacial striations from being pushed from the north in a glacier

Looking All Over For Treasures

Rattlesnake Master

It seems sometimes you can be almost right on top of something and never see it.

A seagull never gets mature feathers until its third year. These are all the same type, Franklin Gulls.
Do you remember Gertrude and Hecliff on Red Skeleton Show?
