Around A Golden Pond

Take a walk with me
See all you can see
And treasure all the beauty.
Prairie Petunia
I think I heard this open ever so quietly, and beckon to me to enjoy a silent delight.

A ruby throat gleams in the sunlight. This male doesn't want his picture taken, but there is lots of activity at all my feeders.I really enjoy the hummingbirds buzzing all around me.

  1. Wonderful pictures as always. I've never had much luck attracting hummingbirds. Or maybe I did but they weren't coming around when I was watching...lol

  3. I've got hummers flitting around the garden. lovely pictures. there was a purple thistle growing in the overgrown easement in front of an abandoned property at the end of my street. I kept thinking I would take some clippers and snip off a couple of the dried seed heads and kept forgetting and then one day a neighbor had mowed it. oh well. next year I guess.

  6. Wonderful, wonderful! I have never seen a wild petunia. Your flower photos are lovely, and that water lily really does seem to be beckoning! The hummingbird shot is also great. I have had one flirting around with me early in the mornings as I sit on a deck sipping coffee. Haven't tried for a photo. Think I will just be content with yours. ;)

  7. I have trouble taking photos of birds that are sitting still. You captured a hummer. Good going.

  11. Absolutely gorgeous! The pollywog = fun! We had them in the golf pond when we were children. The hummers have visited our patch this year even though I don't have a Kool-aid feeder. They come to inspect an orange ribbon on the back porch. It's dragonfly season here in Colorado, too. Lovely stroll!
