Hanging Rock Park

My little friend eating a peanut I tossed to it. There is a pair under my front porch that amuse me when I am sitting outside enjoying the breeze.

Six-spotted Tiger Beetle

Two of my grandsons were over the other night after a day of fishing. They love going through everything I own, being 2 and 3. They especially like my library of field guides, which provide a good assortment of pictures to look at. The oldest came out of my office and handed me a folded piece of paper. "I found this for you in one of your books," he said proudly. I smiled and explained it had been a bookmark. Got to love them!

  1. Love the grandson story. Did you find your place again? lol
The chipmunk photo is PERFECT. Didn't know those little guys would sit still long enough for a photo!

  2. Such a beautiful photo of the red roses surrounded by the daisies. the memorial stone made me smile. I thought for sure the folded piece of paper handed to you by your grandson was going to be a page from one of the books in your library. Glad it was just a bookmark.

  7. Hi Steve - lovely photos and story line - the devout fisherman lost his wife too early ... sad - but a wonderful place to be.

Those kids will be such fun for many a year to come ... enjoy - book mark! Cheers Hilary

  8. Children are here to remind us that most things are not as important as we make them to be. And yes you have to love them (it's so much fun).
