Just Plain Pretty

Luigi, the warm egg eater. He won't eat one if it cold, but almost pushes the hens off their nest to get them fresh. We are getting so many he could have a few. He hasn't bothered the duck  eggs. Makes me think of an uncle who put an egg in his wine for dessert, dipping biscotti in this and being very content. Just like Luigi, sitting here in the sun.
That start of a day offers a welcome sight, the sun.

  1. Sounds like you might need to lock Luigi out of the hen house. I love that picture of the pine cones.

  4. We are getting leaves on the trees now. And I think I spied some flower buds on the crab apple tree.

  8. Hi Steve - they are all just wonderful ... such a treat to see the variety you offer ... the pine cones (which aren't) but I can't remember what they are ... are delightful Spring newcomers ...

Clever Luigi - he doesn't want to get a cold mouth when Spring hasn't quite arrived ... he does look magnificent ... cheers Hilary

  9. My dog likes eggs too. An egg in wine sounds revolting to me.

  12. Pretty pics. My poor forsythia was a bum rush this year...maybe three yellow flowers and no leaves yet. I swear every spring I am going to dig it up and try somewhere else in the yard and every year I forget to move it. Oh well. Have a great weekend!

    1. I bet the chickens aren't very happy about Luigi pushing them off and he nests to eat their eggs. Thanks for the photos. It is snowing here again.
