A Few Good Friends

It's hard to say one of my friends is a squirrel, but they always catch my eye. Some may remember my trying to tame one with peanuts and it grabbed my index finger and bit it instead. It still gives them laughs at the veterinarians office I called to see if I needed to get shots. A hard tale to outlive out on the prairie.

  1. Hi Steve - oh dear, but probably good to call re the shots, if needed. Love the photos - clear and crystal like - we haven't had much of that this winter so far. The deer are amazing ... and the 'splat' squirrel is another matter ... I know he's not splat - but looks it! They are always cavorting around ...

    Cheers Hilary

  2. What a beautiful area! I like squirrels, too, but they're certainly grumpy little animals!

  4. not sure if my first comment went through or not so I'll try again.
You have given up on trying to tame those squirrels right?
The way that tree is growing is fascinating.

  5. I like that you saved the bright colors for last. Squirrels are excellent subjects for pictures.

  6. Looks like you've had some ice. We've been spared that. We've had one snow...same one you all had...but pretty nice weather overall. You get such good deer shots, and I love the little woodpecker.

  9. I love squirrels even if they can be pests. not that enamored of deer. nice to look at and all but I'm glad I don't have any around here because I garden and they will eat just about everything. some nice icy pictures too.

  11. You have a nice collection of friends, Steve. I saw ice in the photos and lamented the fact that we are not getting any winter weather (yet). It's not that I want wintry weather to come during the holidays when folks, including ourselves, are traveling to visit family and friends. However, some seasonal temps would be nice instead of the 50s we have been having in NH.

  12. Ice droplets already in your photos. Cold up there. I, too, have a squirrel but it is a love/hate relationship. I love to watch him frolic in the back yard, but I wasn't so entertained when he ate all my Christmas cacti down to the nibs.
