Cold Lake Wind

Walking across the bridge
Wind whipped through layers
Trying to keep me warm.

I just love watching a big buck. They are trying always to look their best, while trying to please all the ladies. During rut they become a lot bolder, and it is fun to be closer to them. In another few weeks they will fade away, going to that secret lair they like to hide away in.

  1. Winds can make a decent day intolerable. I like your buck photos. Bucks are bold and sneaky.

  4. Hi Steve - lovely photos .. we've got lots of wind here ... but I never see wild turkeys or deer ... though deer are around further inland. It's still not too cold - I enjoyed a windy walk yesterday ... cheers Hilary

  5. The turkey all look happy to have survived Thanksgiving but the deer look a bit concerned about the hunters getting ready to hit the woods

  9. I find it interesting that turkeys and deer are so often found together. I'm guessing the wolves prefer it that way..

Lovely shots.. that last one is a beauty.

  14. I have never seen a turkey in the wild...I am always fascinated when I see photos of them in ordinary places, like back yards and crossing a highway. I guess they hide really well around here! Have a great weekend!
