Springing About

Deflated puffballs
A small creature flitted close to the water. I was surprised to see it was a bat, but it wouldn't hold still for a photo. It was hoping for a stray bug perhaps and moved across the lake. Spring is upon us and showing all over the place. I have crocus blooming with lots of spring bulbs coming up. I have started my tomatoes and peppers in my basement and look forward to eating good again out of my garden.

  2. Spring is not only great because of the end of winter but for all of the new life which appears.

  4. As a farm boy in southern Iowa I would see these red headed woodpeckers. I bet I have seen one in forty or more years since I left that area in the 60's.
