Chasing Eagles

As the ice melts on the larger lakes it became a buffet for eagles to watch for winter kill. In just a few days many flew to enjoy the easy meals, before returning to nesting areas and summer homes. I stopped at my favorite bakeries, grabbed a jug of chocolate milk and headed out for a nice afternoon on the lake.

A few will stay and watch me fishing and camping on my favorite lake.

  2. Hi OOTP - wonderful shots and the thought of hot chocolate milk and the afternoon spent watching these magnificent creatures would be a great treat ... it's amazing how nature adapts all living things to take advantage when the time is right .. cheers Hilary

  5. Maybe those eagles were hoping you would share either your baked goods or some of the fish you caught

  6. Today, we saw some gulls, ducks and even a blue heron on the river, but doubt if we will see any eagles here in Nashua, NH, Steve.

  7. Never tire of seeing the majestic creatures. One flew over when I was bottle feeding the babies. The 3 orphan calves.

  10. I'm envious of your bald eagle pictures. They're great. I may have gotten some pictures of a couple of them very high in the sky once, but I've never been sure if they were actually bald eagles. I only ever saw one close up and I didn't have my camera.
