Pelicans And Egrets

With the changing of the seasons comes the migrations of many birds. Among them are some huge birds who visit about the same time every year. This year I had both Great Egrets and American White Pelicans together on the same pond. They were depleting the fishery and headed for the Gulf of Mexico. It made me want to join them, I could use a little ocean and sand.

  1. Wow Steve, that is awesome. I love the white Pelicans... I was just writing a future blog about birding in Galveston, TX.. The Pelicans down there which are year-rounders are definitely not WHITE. Wonder if any of these little beauties in your pictures will end up in Galveston????? Hmmmmmmm... Great set of photos.

    Hugs,
