Checking Out Bluebirds

These guys act vicious while wrestling.

Oh mister Bluebird, sing a song for me...........

A new Mom
Honeysuckle

This Plover takes me away from her nest and then acts injured to take me  over more.

  2. We watched a mother duck do her injured duck act while we were paddling down a river. when she finally thought we were far enough away she lifted out of the water and flew back upstream. we don't see bluebirds this far south. at least I haven't.

  6. Your blue birds should be on a second clutch by now. I think the first clutch has hatched here.

  7. Those blue birds are pretty. We don't have them here. And that Plover? Are they the same as killdeer? We have killdeer here. They are so comical. I just love their babies. So cute.

  11. I love bluebirds. It's been awhile since I've seen any. I've seen plovers before, but I've never been lucky enough to see one act injured yet.

  12. No bluebird houses in our yard, so nice to see these, Steve. We have had several robin nests in the crepe myrtles, but the young seem to leave before I have a change to see them hopping about. I know about the piping plover's diversionary broken wing tactics as without fail one builds a nest near the railroad tracks not far from our home.

  13. I love that first photo of the birdhouse out on the prairie -just a great shot. Bluebirds-how special. I don't think I have ever seen one in or around my yard, but I have friends a few miles away that have a whole host of them come to their birdfeeder. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
