Kayak Fun

There is a very nice feeling of tranquility when on the water in a kayak. It is like being in a totally different world and perhaps being the only one out there. I love the feel of gliding through the water and finding treasures and ideas.  Sometimes I shoot the same shot at a different angle or light before I really like it.. Below  you see a spider web in the middle of the lake and wonder how this happened. Later I discover a spider who walks on water and absolve who placed that web. I find a den and wonder by the tracks if it is a otter or mink. All leave me thinking about what wonderful beauty I have found while out on this peaceful day. My happiness glides across the water, carried on a gentle prairie breeze.

  3. I wish more people would enjoy kayak fun. They'd be a lot better off and so would the environment.

  6. so beautiful. when I got involved in the river guiding, the outfitter would do canoe trips and rafting trips. I never was much interested in the rafting trips. I much preferred the solitude of a canoe even if there were10 to 15 other boats in the group. the canoes would spread out and it was always quiet and lovely. also I preferred being in charge of my boat as opposed to just riding along. although as I guide, I would have been in charge of the raft. not the same though. canoes are much more maneuverable.

  8. Hej Steve, what wonderful photos. They are really brilliant those photos of the wood reflecting in the water. I love that little sweet squirrel! Beautiful butterflies.

I have never been in a kayak although I live by the water - I'm afraid if the boat would turn over and I would be hanging head down. But it must be fun when you are used to it.

  13. I'm surprised you were able to get the pictures of the turtles. They're usually pretty skittish.

  15. Your perfect description of the joys of kayaking reminds me of why I like to enjoy nature hiking, biking, canoeing etc. Anything without loud, noisy, polluting machine is the jest of it...:)
