I'm not too far from the look of an owl
Ferocious predator on the prowl
Who swoops in with such silent elegance
It almost resembles play
This duel of predator and prey
Reigns over a tiny kingdom
Out On The Prairie.

  1. Very nice, Steve.
I hear them eveny evening and sometimes in the night in the wood next my home.
    Have a goo week-end !

  2. I like owls. They always look so dignified.

  3. You have me right there with the owl silently dropping to catch prey.

  4. I love owls.. We have screech owls here and barn owls.. I love to hear the barn owls at night ~ Hoot -Hoot a hoot hoooooo~!
Have a tiggeriffic week-end..ta ta for now from Iowa:)

  5. This post reminds me of a time when Doug and I saw an owl atop tall post along a highway. We turned the car around and went back so I could take a picture. It wasn't until I looked at the picture that I realized it was a fake owl. :)

  6. I've been totally captivated by owls lately. Of course I don't see any real ones but all the cute little ones that pop up all over the place are a nice substitute

  7. Wonderful, Steve, I love all of the owls we have here in New England.

  8. Except for Great Horned and Barred they are quite rare here though last winter saw a Snowy irruption....

Keep it positive and informative,I enjoy hearing from you!
