The Day After

This Imperial Moth,in the Giant Silkmoth family, almost looks like a dead leaf. It was huge and waiting for me to find it on my back door.

The shower felt too good today
So for a long, long time there I stood
I thought about saving water
But let that thought float gently away.

  1. What an absolutely beautiful moth. I don't believe I've ever seen one before. I think they're supposed to be messengers of good tidings.

  8. The moth was dressed in perfect camouflage. But the photo that really caught my eye was the one with the blue flower, mixed in with the red ones. That blue one...was it a pansy?...its color was so brilliant.

  9. Gorgeous photos especially of the flowers... Beautiful, Steve. We had a whopper of a bad storm late this afternoon.. We are fine but lost 2-3 trees behind our home. Too close for comfort!!!!

The good news is that we did get some rain from that system. We needed that!!!

  12. Nice, nice photos. Someone needs to tell the moth that his camo only works in the woods and not on doors! Kind of like all the people I see wearing camo around these days in cities!

  15. Very flowered post, Steve. About the moth is it a night butterfly or a day one ?

  16. That sure is a big moth. It's not pretty like all those flowers though.. It's so hot everywhere it seems. My cousin lives in Ohio and he is always posting pics of the temps at the bank clock. 104 degrees yesterday. Yikes! I don't blame you for taking a long shoer, as long as there's no water shortage yet. Have a nice weekend Steve.

  18. Stevbe, you got Rain??? Lucky you as we've had none here in over a week, but sure could use it. No need to give an weather update cause it's the same as throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada too. Those sunflowers seem to be really liking this weather.
