Winter Is Still Around

 That cold brisk air
                                                              Livens it up everywhere

Maybe we should have flown south
As others may have done
But then we would miss our winter fun.

The alley behind my home

Silver maple buds wanting to bloom

A sit on the square watching them move the snow

The next deluge left us in white out conditions. Who would want to be out on the prairie in this? Why I would, look at this rustic shot of a farm. I had to stand behind my van to get this, the snow was blowing almost straight across. I was amazed at the shots that came out even with a lens covered in snow.Makes me wish I had that waterproof camera with me.

  1. It looks rather chilly in your neck of the woods young man. I'm fussing cause it's only supposed to be in the mid-50's here today. I should have been born a beach bum. The photos are most excellent!

  3. I love to see snow as long as it is not in Nashville. I would even love to have it here if I did not have to go out and drive in it. Snow on the prairie is sublime. Snow on city streets is not.

Love that shot of the barn in the snow-

  4. You are a much hardier soul than I, Steve. I stayed inside all Saturday while the winds whipped and the snow fell.

  5. Your pictures are great and I love looking at it in nature but then your pictures of the alley and road reminded me that I don't like to have to interact with snow. The first shot of the ducks (2nd pic) is great and what strikes me about all these pictures is the lack of color. Everything has grayed out.

  6. It sure looks pretty but I would much rather see it in your pictures than in real life. We haven't had much snow at all this year.

  7. Oh, it look so cold, Steve. But so pretty, too. I can say that because I spent the afternoon sitting on a sunny beach in Florida. :)

  8. Love these snow shots; I'd love to see some snow here in Arkansas, but it's just way too warm.

  14. Hi Steve !
On last sunday we got 3 inches of snow and more but much less in your prairie. Photos of snowy trees are very beautiful.

  15. At this point in time and some people may think I am bonkers, but I would not move south for the winter. I'm a four-season kind of a person, who loves the winter and loves snowy pictures such as yours. they're just beautiful!

  18. That snowstorm just missed us. I think we were slightly too far north of it. We got no snow at all. I miss all of the geese. I've been hearing them flying around and honking, but I haven't seen any at all.

  19. At least you have some winter weather, Steve, compared to many of us who have no snow this winter. Here on the VA eastern shore there hasn't even been a flurrey.

  20. I'm dumbfounded at those pictures and your well southwest of us. It has been our warmest and least snowy Jan. ever here....

  21. Hej Steve, I also wish to have a water camera! I like rainy days and would like to take photos in the middle of a shower. Your photo in the snow storm is fine.

I like the expression "brisk" air. This is excactly how it is. I'll try to remember that word.

I love your winter photos. And I like the photo where you are sitting watching them removing the snow! That's a good one!
