Trout Fishing In America

If you don't hear from me
It's not that I want it that way
I just am not close to the Internet
Or is it just not close to me.

Prairie Blazing Star getting ready to burst into bloom for the Fourth.

This dragonfly had just emerged from the water, a new kid on the block.

I leave again tomorrow
Up to the cabin to play
It is in the middle of nowhere
But I trout fish every day.

I  will see you in a week or so
A week isn't really that long
I will think of you through my day
While having so much fun.

I stop at the little library
A celebrity for some they say
Coming into their town
Oh show how you play
You really do get around
Come back and stay all day
Wait I see some eager eyes
Over at the children's section
They point to a chair for me to sit
And share my favorite selection.

I was looking for butterflies and dragonflies along a large tract of milkweed when this little fawn peeked at me. It was so tiny and hidden well out on the prairie.

  1. This is a nice collection of photos. That woodland road (trail?) is very inviting to me. We will miss you when you are unconnected but enjoy your time away at your cabin.

  2. These are great, Steve. I really admire how you are able to catch shots of flying creatures...and frogs and fawns, too. Enjoy your time at the lake.

I love the photos of the dragon flies...a favorite summer critter.
