One Day At A Time

 A simple life
 The sun peeks
Gracefully sharing it's warmth to the flowers and trees out on the prairie

As the sun breaks up a few clouds a lone bike rider breaks over a hill

 Followed by thousands

Lily finally gets to go to church

Someone stopped me
And asked about the dog
How old is it, still a pup
They had one that was white
When they left she waited
For the next bit of attention

And as seen here below three isn't a crowd

The sounds of the night
Seemed to have faded away
As her lips approached mine
In the tenderness of moonlight
I thought of all in a quiet dream
With a tiny little dog crowding me
I rearranged her position again
Momentous times out on the prairie.

  1. Is that Elvis on a bike? Love it Betsy

  2. Some of those bikers were wearing very interesting outfits. Was that Elvis I saw? :)

  3. She is a really cute dog, I can see why everyone was interested in her! I recently got a dog too, and I beam with pride every time someone tells me how pretty she is. She had a hard life before she found me, so she deserves the love and attention. ♥

  4. Loved the photos!! I always enjoy it when RAGBRAI comes through our area. It is a sight to behold.

  5. Great pics! Looks like a whole lot of fun!

  6. Mmmm. Somebody is having fun. Way to go Steve!

  7. Ahhhhh! So glad Lily finally got to go to church!!
Love all of these photos Steve!!
And thanks for your sweet comment!!
    Happy weekend!!

  8. Oh my. Some of those hills look like killers. More power to all of you who can ride your bikes up and down them. And even sweet Lily gets to go along for the ride and the pie.

  9. Looks like a fun day. I enjoyed your final words. Poetry says so much more than what it says.

  10. Hi Steve, glad to see that you and Lily are having such a great adventure. And that looked like "Elvis" riding a bike too!

  11. Love the shot of Elvis with the little girly basket on his bike.

  12. It appears that you and Lily had a really fun and interesting day. Great pictures!!

  13. I always wonder how the Amish children really like living that way. especially when they go into stores around other people. Sure are lots of bikers! Looks like they were all having a fun time. Lily is so cute. Were you riding a bike with her? Or just observing? Have a nice weekend!

  14. What a fun way to get around... such an adventure and fine pics for sharing.

  15. I like the Elvis guy. I'm always amused whenever I see one of those.

  16. As a lover of Laura Ingalls Wilder I am takin in by the title of your blog. Anyway, wonderful photos. They really do tell a story.

Keep it positive and informative,I enjoy hearing from you!
