It's A Holiday !

An unusual find yesterday, a goldenrod in bloom.

Sand trees

A leaf grabbing branch.

A Prairie Thanksgiving
Memories from past and present
Shared with many around
Sharing for many generations
Our tradition is very sound
Steadfast we prepare lots of food
Enough we hope to go around
Nobody leaves our tables hungry
Wait, how does dessert sound?

  13. Thanksgiving day is a holiday but nor for the turkeys. In France, we eat turkey for Christmas day. Happy Thansgiving day !

  14. Love the white fluffy grasses in that close-up, Steve. What is that?

And I must say that I wish your little doggie would come over and play with my kids. He's so sweet!

  16. The grasses opposing each other are foxtail. My dog,Lily, goes everywhere with me.She has stayed in the nicest places and explored everywhere I do.She gives me someone to talk to at all times and is spoiled rotten.I put her in a lot of shots bt sheblends in well.Hope you are all sharing a good day and thanks for the nice input.

  17. The way the water has washed the sand leaving the darker grains reminded me of my childhood where I spent a lot of time playing along a riverbank.
The branch grabbing the leaf on quick glance looks like a fellow figure skating. Love the Mullein leaves they're so soft.

  18. Happy Thanksgiving! Loved the pictures, especially the ones of your cute little dog. Have a great bike ride. I can't remember where you live but I heard from relatives in North Dakota that the chill factor is 26 below.

  19. Happy Thanksgiving, Steve to you and Lily. Thanks for all your comments on our little blog too.

  20. beautiful shots... beautiful poem. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
